![]() We lead such busy lives. Sometimes, it takes our physical bodies or our minds requiring a break for us to press pause. And other times, it takes the holiday season to remind us to press pause. As I take my pause during this holiday period, I want to share three reasons to pause that I have found useful for me when I practice them. Pause to celebrate: Celebrating the milestones along our journey, whether small or large, provide more positive reinforcement to continue the journey. Every experience presents an opportunity to celebrate. Don't blow past this reason to pause, especially for you, your loved ones and your colleagues & team. We all need a pat on the back!
Pause to reflect: Reflecting on our journey prepares us for what is to come. Through reflection, we capture what to do more of and learnings that make us stronger and better. Reflection allows us make our journey ahead even more intentional and aligned with our purpose and passions. We deepen our awareness of self and others, and build better relationships through this practice. We all need to move with intention! Pause to rest: Resting throughout our journey ensures we recharge, heal, and refresh so we can be more of who we want to be as we forge ahead. No matter how exciting the activity is when we are in a state of flow, no matter how challenging the learnings may be, resting allows us to stretch without entering the space of strain and burnout. Regulating our rest period reduces the need for our bodies and minds to require us to rest. There we have it, three reasons to pause - celebrate, reflect and rest. What other reasons do you hit that pause button for?
